Summer 2018

We stayed close to home, it was the summer of beaches, mermaid pools and lots of friends coming to visit. We stayed up late our teeth chattering on the sand, dertermind to see the sun go down.

They surfed, we watched, we SUPPED , we found hidden corners of emptyness, even in our heaving town. We took lots of time out together just us.

The girls fell in love with the newest addition to our family who came to stay.

We loved this summer, it went on and on, the forever summer of 2018.

Turning 11

Never more happy thsn on the beach, she spent her birthday there, just us four, just how she wanted it. I made a speech about how proud we are and how lovely she is and we raised a glass “HEY!!!!!!!!!!” said the sister ” WHERES MY SPEECH???????”

The party was wild and crazy with her friend and what seemed like a hundred girls. She loved it and embraced it all.

The cake was like a wedding cake, i did pat myself on the back for that one !  ” not an actual water melon she said ….. just a hint ! ” gosh she knows what she wants !

Happy birthday to the best 11 year old there is !

The bluebells month

So she finshed year six! what a roller coaster of a ride!

I felt it was her month, her year even ! so many wonderful things happened for her. She and her sister joined the drama club at school and embraced Mary Poppins, at the same time she auditioned for the leavers play and got a part, she was over joyed. At one point she was practising for both as well as her part in the ballet show. She loves the stage and embraced the challenge in her cool calm collected way she has.

Her school does leavers like no other school, a day of rib ride, paddle boarding, beach party, food, cakes at school, and a very emotional assembly. We were so delighted to see her go up to collect the maths cup, for her hard work and progression. Her teacher said some lovely words about her and she derserved them all, she absolutely flew in year six.

She also won the bake off at the summer fete and an art award in the village fete life couldnt get any better for her. Thank goodness the little one was in the bakeoff finals too, but the beam on her face for her sister said it all.

The final goodbuy was the guitar concert, we went in expecting the usual only to find her and her two close friends on stage with mics singing and playing and leading the show.

I felt in a matter of just a few weeks all her primary dreams came true. What a way to leave the school she had been at all her life. The excitment to going to senior is tially bubberling and she cant wait !

Its been too long …

Its been so long since i blogged on our live. It’s the sign of good times and experiances and i hope i know where to start.

This spring was a scorcher here in Cornwall and we were blessed with sunny days and blue skies.

The girls surfed and hung out on beaches, rock pooled and embraced every inch of sunshine and outdoor time they could.

We went to Italy for the end of the ski season and they got their first tastes of skiing and they fell in love with the slopes and were naturals. The crazy one enjoyed the speed and the bluebell the scenary and snow. I hated every minute of it, but sat in the sun and watched then zoom past every now and then.

The little one has continued to bring a smile to our faces with her little ways and sayings. We had to smile at how she cheated at brownies when they went on a scavenger hunt to collect rubbish, her team couldnt find a chip fork, but she was so proud to tell us that she just went to the cafe and asked for one from them, they won the game, she was super impressed with her skills. ” I did look to make sure no one was watching before I did it ”  Our cat we think has a second home that he visits, ” he smells of log burners ” I exclaimed. ” mama, everyone nowadays uses radiators, come on ! ” she said.

Both girls are so lovely, the little one waiting weeks to tell me how uncortable her head rest in the car was, always just going with the flow, and the bluebell sharing out her arcade tickets with children when they come to stay so she can let everyone join in on the naughty treats they offer as prizes.

The school summer fete was upon us, and the bouncy castle man gave out pellet guns as prizes… while Fleur ran around with her crazy friends having a shoot out ball in the apple orchard, the big sister was mortified ” guns !!!!!! in our church school” the ying and yang of the girls never ceaces to amaze me.

We ( sort of ) embraced the world cup this year for the little footbal crazy one, but never not missing a trick when Mexico one she asked ” can we go there to help them celebrate” love this girl !
