Today was a cold blustery day, the winds were high and the sea was wild. The girls met there friends and ran over the sands, swung from old ropes on the harbour front used to tie up boats. They scaled the harbour wall and played dare with the rolling sea. Trainers and socks got wet, ears turned red and cold, hot chocolate was called for, but once inside the cosy ice cream parlour the nearest place open for shelter it soon turned into an ice cream order.
Today was just an ordinary winters day, but today is what childhood memories are made of. I loved today.
